Do You Love What You Do?

When you love what you do and do what you love, the tasks and process don’t feel like work. The day-to-day activities become fun challenges. You find a “flow state” where things feel effortless.

Mike Greenberg, host of the ESPN morning show “Get Up,” asked Tom Brady Sr. how his son, Tom Brady Jr., one of the greatest leaders in NFL history, is so successful and able to perform at such a high level in his mid-40’s. His answer was strikingly simple.

“He loves the process.”

Tom Brady loves his business and every aspect of it. His business just happens to be playing professional football. He enjoys game film study at 5am, the repetition with his teammates practicing plays to get them just right, the strict no-sugar diet and nutrition plan, the off-season workouts and physical demands of a grueling season. He loves it all. And the results are legendary.

The approach and results are not just reserved for high profile athletes. They are available to all of us.

When I see clients make the conscious decision to align who they are, what they enjoy, what they’re good at and what feeds their soul, they feel on fire. They enjoy the process of making new connections, interviewing for new roles, challenging themselves to strive for more. They feel magnetic. Networking becomes easy. Conversations are meaningful. Doors open for them effortlessly. They focus on creating a legacy of positive impact, instead of merely surviving the daily grind.

Do the tasks, activities and process of your work drag you down, but you want them to fill you up?

Are mundane routines boring and it’s time to light your heart and soul on fire?

Do you feel like you are pushing a stone uphill and instead want things to flow easily?

If this is you, let’s talk.

If this sounds like someone you know, please forward this article to them. And send them my way. I can help.
